1. Treat landlording as a business. Develop a system with a set of written procedures for all steps in your rental process. If you aren’t sure about how to do that, talk with an experienced landlord, find a landlord mentor, or join a landlord association to get the training for free as part of the membership.
The end of summer often comes with the cries of, “Say it isn’t so!” and wistful glances at a season cut too short. However, since all of our collective whining won’t make a bit of difference, it’s best instead to realize all the great opportunities fall’s cooler weather presents, gardening being one of them.
Remember the riddle that asks: If a tree falls in the forest, but no one is there to hear it, does it still make a sound?
